Where should you have your senior portraits taken? I ask my clients a few basic questions to get them to start thinking about their personal style and taste. If you want to wear sun dresses and shorts in your senior photos, you should definitely have a summer session. If you love sweaters and jeans, you may be leaning towards a fall senior session. There are many different “basic” locations that I list off for clients to choose from such as: the beach, nature/rustic, urban, a park, field, etc. I have lived in many cities and states, and I must say that Battle Creek has some awesome locations for photos!
We went to Willard Beach in Battle Creek for Gabby’s senior session. Willard beach has so many little nooks and spots that I love to shoot at! When planning for a photo shoot, I always make sure that there are multiple “spots” at the location to lend to a variety of looks. Light is another HUGE factor! Whenever I shoot in a new location, I try to get there at the time I will be shooting so that I can evaluate what the light will be like for my session. The evening we met for Gabby’s photos was so perfect! We walked all over Willard beach and got so many different looks! I worked until the sun went down and took advantage of the dark blue, post sunset sky. Color and texture and light drive my work and I just love how these photos came out! Enjoy my favorites!
