While visiting Michigan a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Catrice and her family for a beach session. The sunny, golden light was NOT a part of the weather forecast, but we managed to make some moody magic happen with dark blue skies and wind in our hair! Even when the weather is not what I anticipate, I’m still able to make some magic!

When you have older kiddos and are planning your photo session, I may recommend or suggest ideas for something fun to DO during your session. A beach location always lends itself to a space where kids can run and play and splash, but I thought it might be fun to add a picnic element! Catrice came ready with some of her kid’s favorite snacks and the most darling vintage picnic basket. I love how these images came out and hopefully we made a memory of a chilly beach picnic.
