Back in March, Kailyn and Kevin asked me to take some photos for their pregnancy announcement.  I was so excited to meet these two soon-to-be parents!  We talked about what type of announcement she was looking for and I knew I wanted to style it around the two of them. They love to travel together and have been on some pretty awesome trips!  We went with an adventure theme and I LOVE how these came out.  I knew that Southern Exposure had a cool, vintage greenhouse (hello awesome diffused light!) and I’ve always loved the typewriter they have for decoration.  Kailyn brought her globe and I brought extra succulents.  I never shared these images because I didn’t want to ruin any sort of surprise for them (how awful would that be!?) but I love how they came out and so I’ll share now:  at the beginning of their new adventure! 🙂

Meet Baby Liam:  That head full of dark hair and dark eyes (very awake!)- he was the sweetest thing for his first photoshoot last week!  I was so excited that Kailyn inquired about outdoor newborn portraits- especially because the lake and their yard is so lovely.  Outdoor newborn portraits are not something that can be done year round in Michigan, but we had a lovely summer day, perfect for wrapping Liam up and photographing him in their garden.  It’s safe to say- he is already dearly loved!  I love all the fierce forehead kisses from daddy. 🙂  I love the blue tones and simple modern feel to the indoor photos- it definitely feels like a lake house.  I feel so blessed when couples invite me into their home to capture the feeling of what the first few days of bringing home baby feels like. And trust me- it IS a blur- but now they will have these photos to look back on and remember that among the sleepless nights and constant feedings there was a teeny bundle of baby joy! Enjoy my faves!
