A modern senior session with Laura Hollander Photography
Lexi contacted me back in January for her senior session! I was so excited to finally meet her in July! She’s a senior at Pennfield High School here in Battle Creek and dance and friends are a big part of her life! I get really excited whenever I have seniors who tell me that they dance! I love getting action shots, I love dresses with movement and I love capturing these young people in their element! Lexi was no exception- she brought a modern dance costume with her to her session and I got some very fun action shots!
We started Lexi’s session at Southern Exposure Herb Farm in Battle Creek. I know this is a popular spot for portraits but that doesn’t throw me off at all. I believe I can photograph a subject with my own personal perspective and still make a very special portrait even at a “popular” location. I strive to find my own personal angle or point of view to make my portraits and sessions a little “extra” 😉 Southern Exposure has so many cool little spots and vignettes and the light there in the evening never disappoints.
After we finished up at Southern Exposure we headed to downtown Marshall for a quaint urban session. Marshall has such a cute downtown area but I was so glad that I did a little research for some fun spots to shoot. (I will do this FOR you!- pro perk!) I absolutely adore the little fire escape area and am so proud to share that one of these was recently featured on The Twelfth Year – a senior portrait instagram hub. 🙂
Lexi’s bestie and mom tagged along the whole evening and I happily obliged when Lexi asked for a few photos of her and her friend!
If you are graduating in 2020 and are still looking for a fun senior portrait experience I may be a good fit for you! I would love to chat and get your name on my fall calendar!
