Senior portrait season is upon us! I absolutely love filling my summer nights photographing seniors. I will help you every step of the way- I have amazing locations around Battle Creek that I love to shoot at and where I know the light well. I send style guides and even a custom questionnaire so I can get to know you a little better before planning your senior portrait session. I love capturing light and texture and color and movement and water and parks and urban buildings- wherever you choose to have your session, I’m here for it! (with an extra pair of clothes in case I end up in the dirt or the water! ;))
I’m gearing up for a summer full of awesome and unique senior portraits! I have so many senior sessions I could share from last fall, and am sharing Narriah’s senior portraits first! Narriah graduated from Lakeview High School this year- congrats girl! She met me last fall for her session, summer and fall are the most popular seasons for senior portrait sessions. That being said- book early to secure a date! 🙂
Two things that I look for when scouting locations for photo sessions are light and texture. The style that I prefer is a portrait with a shallow depth of field with dreamy light. So, if you saw a pull-back of this location, you may not recognize or think that it would be such an awesome photo location. But I look at locations through a photographer’s eye. 🙂 Wheat grass becomes blurry fall shades of color, and gravel becomes spotted bokeh. My friend told me about this location (it’s her super secret spot) and… I kinda love it and shoot here a lot now! Sorryyyyy… not sorry.
Narriah let me shoot til it was dark out and I love the nighttime portraits we were able to capture. I’m always game for trying new things, and the dark blue sky lends such a fun mood to her portraits. Narriah was a blast to photograph! So photogenic and fun, I love every frame. She definitely did a few hair whips and spinning because motion is one of my fave things.
SO- if you’re graduating in 2022 (bless your heart and lets pray for an even more “normal” year!) please book your session early to secure a date. I have a few summer dates left (mostly in August) and then I’m booking into the fall months. I would love to fill my calendar dates with your lovely, youthful faces 🙂
